The series opens with the award-winning film THE UNORTHODOX which is the story of the rise of the political party (Shas) that gave voice to Israel’s Mizrahi/Sephardic Jews. Other highlights include a trip to Israel focusing on the history and contributions of the Jews from Arab countries, a two-part class (“Jews in Arab Lands”) at Renesan with Professor Ron Duncan Hart, National Book Critics Circle Award winner Ariel Sabar discussing his book My Father’s Paradise.
