Set in Israel in 1954, SODA is a passionate love story that address the complex forms of survivalism in both the concentration camps of WW II and in the lives of the post-war survivors. Eva, a beautiful seamstress, arrives with her daughter and settles in a community of Holocaust survivors. Shalom Gottlieb, a former partisan leader and current factory foreman, falls for Eva, who offers him a chance at happiness. But rumors of Eva’s past as a collaborator during the Holocaust shake the community. How will Shalom reconcile his love for Eva without betraying his family, his fellow partisans, and his duty to uncover her secret? The story is based on Director Erez Tadmor’s grandfather who survived the Holocaust as a partisan in the Polish forests.
